Rum Doodle has a long publishing history in the UK. It was first published in 1956 by Max Parrish.
The current edition was published in October 2001 by Pimlico
The audio book (tape or CD) and large print editions are published by Isis publishing.

A Danish edition of Rum Doodle was published by Frolaget Fremad in paperback in 1958
The first French edition appeared in 1956, published by Laffont in paperback
The current French edition is called L'assault de Khili

The first Spanish edition (title: Al Asalto del
Khili-Khili) was published in 1956 by El Club de la Sonrisa
in paperback. The current edition is published by Barrabes

The first American edition appeared in 1957, published by Vanguard Press in hardback (I have one copy in my possession). A new edition was published in March 2002 by Trafalgar Square, part of Random House.
In 1970 Rum Doodle was read in instalments over 2 weeks on BBC Radio 4 by the actor Deryck Guyler. Guyler said later that he'd received more letters of appreciation than he'd had before or since.
In May 1993, the BBC World Service broadcast an adaptation of Rum Doodle as Play of the Week to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the ascent of Everest. The actor Brian Blessed played Burley.
In September 1999 an extract was included in With Great Pleasure by Bill Bryson on BBC Radio 4.
